13 Years With WordPress


Seven months before I retired in the military service, I started to write my stories on running on WordPress. Since then, it has been 13 years that I have posting my running experiences and adventures to my readers. Those past years were great where I was able to inform, share, and inspire others to start running as part of a healthy lifestyle. I hope this blog had contributed to what I have intended to do since then.

At the present, writing my stories in this blog is my way to motivate myself to go out in the outdoors to maintain my physical fitness through running and hiking and to maintain a healthy mental fitness/attitude by writing my personal stories and other information/stories that I would share to everybody. As I grow older, writing is becoming my daily habit to exercise my brain and thinking ability. And since last week, I have extended or expanded my stories to any information that are happening around me and to the environment.

Thank you, WordPress for this opportunity to share my stories as told by an old and ordinary average runner. Thank you also to my subscribers throughout the world, a gratitude coming from a blogger in the Philippines!

Blogging And Fake News (2017)

I am not fond of Blogs whose topics are about Politics. Since this blog is safely categorized as Health and Lifestyle, a part of being a Sports Blog on Running, and had always been a personal journal of my running adventures, opinion on running about my personal experiences, and my Ultra Races under the Philippine Association of Ultrarunners (PAU), such kind of writing will be continuously followed in this blog.

This blog has never been involved in advertising and promoting other running events except for BR’s Events and PAU Events. As for the other running events, I usually post Race Reports in Running Events where I finished or Did Not Finish. I even post Running Events which I intend to join for the year to the point that I would also publish my weekly training schedule and workouts as my preparation for the said events.

My opinions about running are geared towards my personal experiences and the things that I have observed in my participation to running events. There nothing fake about my opinions and experiences as they are taken from my first-hand/personal experience.

There are times that I feature Runners or Ultrarunners who have shown exemplary performance as they serve as inspiration to other runners. These runners are considered as “trailblazers” or “pioneers” to running events where no one have dared to join before, most specially, in international races. To some, they have set a National Record in Ultra Running Events and best performance in International Ultra Running Events.

As I reckon the new birth of ultra marathon/ultrarunning in the country from the time I thought of the idea of conducting the 1st Bataan Death March 102K Ultra Marathon Race, ten years had passed and I predict that more ultra marathon runners will join us to promote the sports and experience what our body is capable of after the Marathon distance.

Seven Years


It’s been seven years that I’ve been blogging and I am still running in the mountains at the age of 62. And I am still happy doing this kind of ritual, telling my stories about my runs and hikes, and sharing such stories to everybody.

As I enter my eight year of blogging, there are more things to share to everybody with regards to running, hiking, and anything about adventures in the outdoors, whether within the country or abroad. As long as I am healthy and able, I will be running on the trails and hiking to the peak of mountains if time and schedule would allow me.

For the year 2015, I will pursue my plan to hike the Historic General Aguinaldo Trail across the island of Luzon; hike the Historic General Funston Trail; and experience again, at least, one adventure run (multi-day stage) for the year. I am also thinking of doing some “segment hike” through Fastpacking on some portions of the Pacific Crest Trail in California, USA and this activity will be posted on this blog.

Starting this week, I have resumed my training after two weeks of rest and recovery (no running!) in preparation to my participation in the Trans Lantau 100K Trail Run in Hongkong on March 13-14, 2015. I will post my daily training in this blog so that I can have a journal/diary for my weekly runs. I have plans also of joining selected mountain ultra trail races to be held abroad which will be dependent on the result of my preparatory races and training.

In addition as the Race Director of Ultra Road and Trail Events scheduled for the year 2015, I will conduct some weekend Trail Running Clinics for those new runners who would like to shift on trail running and/or trail hiking. Announcement and publication of this plan will be made on this blog and on Facebook. These Running Clinics will have limited slots.

Lastly, I would like to express my personal thanks and appreciation to the 5,027 subscribers of this blog.
