Why, Elmer Sabal of course! (2:41:58) Is he not one of your team? That would be XXL Asian size for me BR ha ha. I went through the top half of the official results the moment they came in. I think there were two or three Filipinos on page one.

of course, it was the elite runners from Team Bald Runner, Elmer Sabal and Isidro Vildosola, and Roy Vince who finished sub-3 hours in the said marathon. I heard a certain “Glenn” had a nice finish time, too! I don’t know if one of the pinoy runner-bloggers beat my time in the MILO.

  2. BR, you’re very fast. But, in fairness, the last 10km of Singapore Marathon, according to my friend Annie who finished 3:59, was extremely crowded due to the convergence of all distances. I heard they couldn’t even run straight as they had to weave through the heavy traffic. Jun Jun would yell to Annie “right” or “left” since there was no place to run. They also had no support there to hand them food or drinks. Water stations were filled with people.

Glenn, Jun Jun, Annie are not elite runners, but they are very fast. I salute them and congratulate them for their great time considering the circumstances.

thanks..i really admire those pinoy runners who would like to experience their first marathon in a “first world” country/abroad without considering other factors that affect their performance like road condition/s, the density of running participants, and the absence of “outside” support system. i still believe that the best place for a pinoy to run his first marathon race is to run in metro manila or within our own country. i am sure the 1st timers in singapore marathon will make a faster marathon time on their second marathon. the pasig river marathon would be a nice 2nd marathon for them. run faster and stay fit.

Ganyan talaga ang karera. There are factors that influence the result. We just have to deal with it. What’s important is that you’ve given your best.

Annie and Jun Jun are very fast runners. Congrats to both of you, hirap kaya mag compete overseas especially if its the first. I also wanted Singapore to be my first unfortunately we were not able to register on time. Having been competing overseas for my other sport, iba talaga pag international ang labanan. You dont only compete and represent yourself, but also for your country.
