The announced 7th rendition of the DND-AFP Gintong Pangarap Half-Marathon scheduled on 17 February 2008 is postponed indefinitely.
I just got the information that the “AFP-PNP Olympics” is scheduled to be conducted on the third week of February 2008 as most of the AFP runners will be attending this event. However, the different Special Services and Sports representatives of the Major Services will meet on the early part of February 2008 to discuss the final schedule of the 7th DND-AFP Gintong Pangarap Half-Marathon.
Appropriate announcements will be made.
Bald Runner 
My luck. I left a comment in the Bullrunner Blog about visiting the Philippines from Jan28th to Feb21st, 2008, and looking for a run. I have been training with this half marathon on the 17th as a focus race (someone mentioned it in a reply…..I think Jaymie?). I had made the necessary adjustments to my itinerary to be in Manila a few days before, and had given up the idea of the10k in cebu on the 10th (was going to do the 5k for fun only) so i would be fresh for this race (coaches advice). What a diappointment. This is the second time this has happened to me on a trip to the Philippines (2005 Tri-City run in Cebu was moved back a week 4 days before the race) and I am losing faith that i will ever be able to get in a good race there. It is unfortunate that this poor planning on behalf of the people running the races discourages international triathletes/runners like me. I am a 3 time Ironman completing IM races in Canada, USA, and Malaysia, and have done over 50 triathlons and huindreds of running events since 2001.
Anyhow, thanks for the update Bald (like me) Runner and happy training.

We are sorry for the rescheduling of the DND-AFP Gintong Pangarap Half-Marathon to 09 March 2008. However, if you’ll have the opportunity to be in Baguio City on 14-15 Feb 2008, I will make “special arrangements” for you to participate as my “guest” during the PMA Foundation Day Triathlon and the 3K Gidaya Mountain Trail Run to be held on these days. Hope to see you during your stay in PI.

The 7th DND-AFP Gintong Pangarap Half-Marathon will be held in 09 March 2008 and will start at the Villamor Air Base Grandstand at 5:30 AM.
