It is so sad that most colleges and universities place so much premium & attention to basketball because they derive a lot of income from it, forgetting that there are more sports where the Filipino could excel. It is really sad to know such detailed things about our sports. anyway, i need your support so that athletics will be given attention to the public and that more people should be running/jogging.

But, by sports, I mean in particular those where we Filipinos have a fighting chance to excel like boxing, karate, billiard , middle distance running or the marathon (among others).

We should stop wasting our resources, time and money on sports (like basketball for instance) that we can’t be competitive against the best in the world because of genetic or physical limitations.
